Business Processes

- Whenever possible, we encourage State employees not to print emails, files, or web pages that are available for viewing electronically.
- If printing is a necessity, try to use duplex printers and double-sided printing to reduce paper use.
- For all paper materials, we also encourage the use of recycled paper and soy ink certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
- Reduce printing runs of publications by posting all literature electronically on State websites.
- Encourage researchers to copy electronic files of the State’s archeological inventory rather than printing them and to use digital cameras instead of copy machines when a copy of a photograph is needed.
- Supporting conference calls, and internet-based meeting solutions to reduce travel to meetings.
- Promoting telework solutions and compressed work weeks to lessen the carbon footprint of State employees.
- Visit newspaper websites as an alternative to receiving paper copies.
